You are not an accident. God made you, gives you life, and created you for His glory (Revelation 4:11). Your deepest purpose is found in knowing, worshiping, and enjoying Him.
The Bible teaches that all things were created through Jesus Christ and for Him (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16). That means your life has meaning because it belongs to the One who made you.
God is not distant or indifferent. He is the holy and merciful Creator who calls sinners to Himself through Jesus Christ.
God is perfectly holy, righteous, and pure. The angels declare, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is Yahweh of hosts” (Isaiah 6:3). His holiness means He is completely separate from sin and perfectly good in all His ways.
Because God is holy, He also calls us to holiness: “You shall be holy, for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).
That is where we must be honest. When we compare ourselves to God’s holiness, we see that our greatest problem is not merely broken circumstances, bad habits, or lack of purpose. Our greatest problem is sin.
The Bible says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Sin is not only doing wrong things. It is rejecting God’s authority, loving what He forbids, and living as though we belong to ourselves.
Scripture is honest about the human condition: “There is no man who does not sin” (1 Kings 8:46). Apart from God’s grace, sin brings judgment, death, and separation from Him (Ezekiel 18:4; Romans 6:23).
This is serious news, but it prepares us to understand the best news: God saves sinners.
God did not leave us without hope. In love, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save sinners.
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived the righteous life we have not lived. He died on the cross as the substitute for sinners, bearing the judgment we deserve. He rose bodily from the dead, proving that His sacrifice was accepted and that He has authority over sin and death (1 Peter 3:18; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 4:25).
