Many people feel the pressure of spiritual conflict, but not everyone recognizes where it comes from. Whether we recognize it or not, we are all engaged in a spiritual battle. In a fallen world, sin, temptation, fear, discouragement, and opposition to God’s truth all press against faithful obedience.
But we don’t have to accept defeat, and we don’t have to fight alone. God has not left His people without help. He has given us His Word so we can understand what is happening around us, remember who we are in Christ, and stand firm when the pressure comes.
Scripture tells us plainly that our struggle is not merely against what we can see, but against spiritual forces that seek to oppose God’s purposes. (Ephesians 6:10–12) That’s why God calls believers to be strengthened in the Lord, to put on His armor, and to stand firm—steady, watchful, and anchored in truth. (Ephesians 6:13–18)
And here is the hope: the battle ultimately belongs to the Lord. Victory is not achieved by our willpower, but by God’s power and God’s promise. (1 Samuel 17:47) In Christ, we are not left wondering how the story ends—we stand from a place of confidence because God has already acted decisively. At the cross, Christ disarmed the rulers and authorities, securing the victory His people now trust and proclaim. (Colossians 2:13–15)
So I want to encourage you: open the Bible daily. Meet God there. Let His truth correct your thinking, strengthen your heart, and guide your steps. (Psalm 119:105) When we draw near to God, He draws near to us—and He gives grace to resist the enemy and remain faithful. (James 4:7–8)
There truly is no book like the Bible—no other book so living, so piercing, so steady in truth, and so able to make us wise for salvation and strong for the battle.
